fgd full form in power plant
Flue gas desulphurisation (FGD) is used to clean up power plants. Until now, an integrated process struggles to take sulphur dioxide (SO2) out of the exhaust gases produced by fossil fuel energy plants. It has powerful functions, such as addressing trouble like acid soil caused by acid rain. The technological part of FGD systems includes the use of lime or limestone to absorb SO2. Advanced scrubbers and slurry circulation systems make this possible. Located in various applications around coal-fired, and other fossil-fuelled power stations, these systems play an important role in reducing air pollution. For each ton of coal consumed they can abate one ton of SO2, a greenhouse gas with environmental consequences"".
