ammonia scrubber process
It is a high-tech air pollution control method of effectively removing ammonia from gas streams. Its main function is to purify the emissions, absorbing ammonia into a liquid scrubbing solution. Technological features include a rugged design, which can handle gas flow rates and concentrations. In the process gas and liquid usually flow counter-currently, with gas brought into contact for absorption by the scrubbing solution in a packing or tray tower. As the gas rises through the tower, ammonia shifts phase gas-to liquid, effectively removing it from the gas stream. Applications of the ammonia scrubber process extend to fields as diverse as agriculture, pharmaceuticals. In manufacturing, ammonia is a byproduct of some production processes. Animal husbandry facilities and waste treatment plants also use it to mitigate the environmental or health effects brought about through ammonia.
